Will Your Vote Be Counted?

Greg Palast (BBC investigative journalist) has been doing some great research the past few years about how millions of votes are thrown out by Republican devised rules and procedures that target minority and poorer voters and and other traditionally Democratic constituents (and how the Democrats just sit back and let them do it).

If you have any respect for democracy and the ideals that the U.S. was founded on, this information will make you sick. Hopefully it will make you sick enough to spread the word and make the government fix the system.

I hope your vote isn’t one of the votes that will just be thrown away, uncounted.

I left my little island in Venice yesterday and went out to a Halloween party at USC. It was truly nuts. I think half the campus was there at this frat house, and everybody came out with great costumes. AND, it wasn’t just about how great the costumes were, but the fact that nobody dressed up in the obvious choices like Sarah Palin, The Joker, etc.

Thanks very much to the very welcoming students at USC. Especially Rainbow Bright, Olivia Newton-John (who also could have been Gozer from Ghostbusters if she had done her hair differently), and all of the bees. Maybe with the economy so bad I’ll just go back to school, or at least play some shows there.

Ok, going back to bed.
