New Single: ‘Make a Fuss’ w/Peter Buck
Saint John Live Web Broadcast
Stepping Stone Singer-Songwriter Showcase every Wednesday
Dear Seattle,
Don’t panic, the bright glowing yellow orb in the sky is not an alien invader, it is the Sun. I know that it is foreign in these parts of the world, but I assure you that as long as you put on a little sunscreen, it is very safe. Perhaps even enjoyable.
In southern California we co-exist peacefully with the Sun for most of the year. We wear fewer clothes and our skin takes on a darker hue, and we spend a lot more time outside at places known as “the beach” and “the park”.
So please do not fire that massive particle cannon that you have hidden in the Space Needle (in case of alien invasion) at that glowing orb, but rather revel in it.
The Sun is your friend, I hope you can get outside today and enjoy it today!
Love,
SJ
Dear friends,
I am so incredibly excited to announce my new single, ‘Make a Fuss’!!!
I wrote this song for a girl I was completely infatuated with on a sunny day in Venice Beach, California, and ended up recording it with a rock-and-roll legend, Peter Buck from R.E.M. in Seattle, Washington. It’s a small and magical world, connected by music.
The rest of the amazing musical crew on this single is Scott McCaughey (R.E.M., Robyn Hitchcock), Paul Fox (Producer: Bjork, Wallflowers, 10,000 Maniacs), and Bill Rieflin (R.E.M., Ministry, KMFDM):
We have some more songs recorded and we’re excited to finish the rest of the record (with even more legendary musical guests), but in the meantime, let me present to you, ‘Make a Fuss’ (available on iTunes):
Love,
SJ

Dear lovers of music, there is a delight for me in knowing that every Wednesday at the Stepping Stone in Ballard I can hang out all evening and play some tunes and share the stage with my favourite Seattle singer-songwriters. I hand pick every artist that plays on these Wednesdays and I personally guarantee their quality.
This Wednesday Jean Mann and Jeremy Serwer will be bringing their musical magic to the Stepping Stone. 8PM-midnight, FREE.

I know I’m late to the game, but I sat down and listened to the Decemberists for the first time today, and I really dug it. #decemberists
