I love Lisa Hannigan’s voice and her overall style, and her version of Depeche Mode’s ‘Personal Jesus’ says a bit about both:
Enjoy your Sunday!

Dear friends, I’m excited to get back to Olympia, it’s a super cool little town in Washington with a very eclectic vibe. We’ll be playing at the Pink Pig Bar with Kendl Winter and Jabi Shriki on Jan 26 at 9PM.

Let the fun commence!
Best,
SJ
This is an incredible live performance clip of Stevie Wonder from 1971:
If you need to get up and moving, and you don’t like caffeine, I recommend this song as a healthier alternative.
I played it three times this morning, I might not sleep for days.

so you want to take me back, you want to take me back today
but oh i’ve been burned before, burned before that way
so no i won’t get burned again, burned again today
i found a way to let you go, you wanna hear her name, but you should already know
so my love it’s time to cry goodbye, take one last look that says “lord knows we tried”
to leave this hell behind
leave
so you come sneaking back with your poison and your fear
see the crosses on the wall say “you’re not welcome here”
but oh you’ve come to take me back you’ve come to take me back today
you say the flames they miss me so, the one that got away
but no not that hell again, i will not lose my way
toward the end we kissed like lepers
they say that sometimes love just dies, but i think we knew better
oh my love, if we could only touch again, the wounds that we would mend
but that’s a soul i can not spend
so leave this hell behind
leave
leave
leave
so you come sneaking back with your poison and your fear
see the crosses on the wall say “you’re not welcome here”
Aloha amigos, we’ll be playing a show with my friend Jabi Shriki at The Can Can in Pike Place Market on Wednesday, Jan 16th. 10PM.

This will be an excellent night of music, I personally guarantee it.

I love to dig around YouTube for live music performances from the 60s and 70s. This is a treasure from 1972:
Watching George Harrison and Art Garfunkel chatting in the beginning made it worth worth the click, and then Carly Simon’s performance was so good I played it twice.
Best,
SJ
