I’ve been commissioned to write a song for someone in the UK, I have a couple of months to finish it, but I’ve surprised myself by starting it early. Sometimes, I prefer the panicked energy of procrastination and finishing a song right at the deadline. Maybe this will be a combo of starting early and procrastinating at the end.

I stomped some holes in my previous pair of shoes, but replacements have arrived, just in time for a new set of guitar strings. Simple pleasures. This should be a good weekend.

I learn something new at every show, often by making mistakes that are better than the way I intended to perform. I sing over two hundred shows per year, this year is almost over with only five shows left. I’ll tally all the shows later, but I already know I learned a lot this year, and had tons of fun.
