I was tempted to post the Playmobil version of this Joy Division video which is also pretty cool, but then I was nostalgic for the real thing:
I needed to dig up this video just to listen to the bass line, it’s like a shot of espresso. I think it is anyway, I’ve never had coffee. It gets my heart moving in any case.
Thank you very much to our friends (new and returning!) to the Comet on Sunday, it was such a fun show with Fat Opie and G.O.A.T. You should check them out: Fat Opie is here http://www.fatopie.com, and then G.O.A.T. are members of Smile Brigade, http://www.facebook.com/smilebrigade.
Phil Hirschi and Saint John at the Comet in Seattle WA
And then we met up with Fat Opie again the next day in Olympia WA at Le Voyeur, joined by The Brothers Jim (from Olympia), that was also very very fun. Playing rock-and-roll music feels good.
Now the band and I are putting together a super fun party for this Saturday (Feb 23) at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Seattle, get your tix here:
I have much more anticipation about what the Rover is going to find rather than the next episode of… well, whatever TV show you can think of, even Game of Thrones! And I love Game of Thrones. I almost don’t even care what they find, it’s just rad that we’re on another planet digging around and checking it out!
You can also follow @sarcasticrover on Twitter, he’s pretty funny.
I just read on NME that Johnny Marr auditioned for Paul McCartney back in the 1980s, please tell me somebody had a mic on in the room: http://www.nme.com/news/paul-mccartney…
These are the kind of pairings I sit around and fantasize about.
