I needed some live Leonard Cohen for this lazy Sunday morning (afternoon). This performance from 1979 tastes like a big fat chocolate cake, delicious, ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’:
Enjoy!

This was the first John Lennon song I remember hearing when I was a kid and I had it stuck in my head for weeks, ‘Nobody Told Me’:

Little Richard, one of the absolute rock-and-roll originals, showing us all how it’s done:

I found this vinyl treasure at Bop Street Records (thanks Sam and Catherine for the gift card!) and I’ve been in heaven all afternoon. Wings Over America, 1976. The lights are low, and the bass is heavy, and it’s a 3 disc set.
Heaven.
Since you’re not here with me listening to this record, here’s a video, it’s not the same, but it’s still pretty rad:
(however, Denny Laine’s vocal mimicry at :51 seconds is inexplicable and inexcusable. Stay away from cocaine.)
Enjoy!

Damn, Eric Burdon just kills it here:
Being introduced by Otis Redding can’t be too shabby either.
Enjoy!

Sometimes I just don’t think my ears even deserve to hear the majesty of Roy Orbison’s voice:
Fortunately, I don’t mind enjoying things I don’t necessarily deserve.

This song by Fats Domino must be hundreds (ok, maybe dozens) of years old by now, but still seems fresh as ever:
The video is out of sync with the audio in this live video, but the performance is so solid and I love the horns just cruising around his voice, nice and easy.
