I went to hear Scott McCaughey and the Minus 5 last night at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard:
The Minus 5 were fun, Scott’s songwriting is super cool, and the band really showed off his flexibility in styles, he always puts together top-notch musicians. And new tunes included!
If they come through your town, treat yourself to a Minus 5 show, you’ll really dig them.

We had a fun backyard rehearsal in the sunshine yesterday, it was a lovely afternoon with a bunch of cool folks. We’re performing at a show tonight at Hattie’s Hat in Ballard with the house band backing us up so we got together and ran through the tunes once.
Sarah Ault and Mary Scholz are on tour from LA and will be singing at Hattie’s tonight right after me. 8PM. Free.

I found a cool app that let’s me plug in my chord finger positions and it gives me the name of the chords I’m playing, so now I can write out my music and not be completely wrong. ‘Mexico ‘ is one of my songs that people cover the most so I figured I’d chart it out first, here are the words and chords:
