It’s almost Halloween, and I’m super stoked to have a song that fits the season.
I wrote a love song for witches last year called ‘Casting Spells’, enjoy!

I was arguing with a conspiracy theorist the other day and became very frustrated and decided to stop wasting my time and wrote and recorded a song on my phone instead. The chorus has a bit of potty-mouth in it, so you may want to cover your ears during that part, although it’s super fun to sing it.
Enjoy,
SJ
Happy Spring to all my northern hemisphere friends! It seems like Spring has started right on time here in the Pacific Northwest, the flowers are blooming gorgeously.
Also, NPR is having a Tiny Desk Contest for artists to submit to get featured on their Tiny Desk Concert series, so Phil and I snuck into the Oval Office to record a live version of ‘Madman’ for submission:
Security at the White House is super lax these days, just tell them you’re Russian and they let you right in.
Enjoy!

I recorded a new video, a solo acoustic performance of ‘White Hoods In The White House’. It is very inspiring to see so many people across the USA standing up for what’s right and resisting the current occupants of the White House.
“If you need us we’ll be out in the street, marching for our children, it won’t be on TV…”

I recently wrote a new song and recorded a demo of it for you to check out, ‘Casting Spells’.
Casting Spells
I hear you casting spells in the next room
It spells my doom
And the light flickers under the door
The wind howls you fly back for more
I would lay across your altar, everything to offer
Then the Moon slides across your blade
My smile is not afraid
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide open
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide open
Draw your circle of protection, check my reflection
While the fire tries to purify
If you want to know, look into my eyes
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide open
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide open
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide open
Our stars will tell you I drank the potion
With my eyes wide…
Enjoy!

I think we shared this video of me singing ‘X Marks The Spot’ before, but in case you haven’t seen it yet, please enjoy and share!
Here is a video of my song ‘Mexico’ I recorded in the forest outside of Seattle:

Usually when I perform covers, they are more obscure songs or songs that folks haven’t heard in a long time. I went back into the forest and I decided to defy myself:
Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ performed in the forest outside of Seattle with a portable Mackie FreePlay PA. My version is slightly different to Taylor’s, I hope she doesn’t mind.
Enjoy!

Here’s a video of me singing Van Morrison’s ‘Into The Mystic’, recorded in the beautiful forests outside of Seattle, Washington:
