We had a superb show at the Hi Fidelity Lounge last Saturday, we recorded video and audio but there’s gigabytes of data to go through so give us a little time before we see some of that. However, in the meantime here are some pics from the show:
We’ve added a new member to the line-up and had our first full-band show last Saturday, it was rad. We’ll post a couple videos soon, but in the meantime, here is a pic with our new keyboard player, Abby London (she’s the one in blue):
Come and meet her at a show soon!
Phil Hirschi (cello) and I had a fun rehearsal and show on Wednesday, and we worked on some new music, and I think you should probably come out to a show soon: https://www.sjatr.com/shows
We had a lovely time singing songs for my birthday party at the Columbia City Theater Bourbon Bar last Sunday, it’s a very nice listening room, and many thanks to the very cool folks who joined us for a fun night!

We had a fun time jamming at Trencher’s Taphouse last night, Oliver was very groovy on percussion:

Here are some photos from our show Friday night in Port Townsend WA at Sirens, Mary Ann and Oliver sounded tremendous, and we had a fun time with a bunch of our friends and new fans, thank you for hanging out with us!:
We are coming back to Port Townsend on April 8, let’s have some fun again soon: https://www.sjatr.com/shows SJ
My friend and superb illustrator, Joshua Boulet, stopped by my happy hour show at Bernard’s on Wednesday and drew a picture of me when I was singing ‘Madman’:
Boulet also drew my ‘Welcome’ EP cover, some covers of the Seattle Weekly, and a bunch of other neat projects, he’s super-talented, keep an eye out for his work.
I have a couple of days off after a week of super fun shows around Washington and Oregon, lots of singing, lots of travel, many cool folks, delicious food and beers, beautiful sights, and I think now a few hours off to collect my thoughts will be useful. Portland, we really love your beer and your food trucks and your weirdness, thank you for having us and we’re looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Last night at Anchor Pub in Everett WA was tremendous, David Johnson, Jeremy Serwer, and Paula Boggs sounded superb, and many thanks to our friends who came out to join us, see you next time!

I just finished seven shows in five days, most of them over two hours, and some of them for three hours. Fun. But now my voice will enjoy a couple of days off.
I’ll be back at the microphone soon though, let’s hang out: https://www.sjatr.com/shows
I just remembered (with only about an hour left in the day) that I have a ‘Mexico’ themed song for today’s holiday:
Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that is celebrated more in the U.S.A. than it is in Mexico, but let’s not pick nits, ¿bien?
Seattle photographer Cody Benally took some photos of our show at the Hard Rock Cafe from Feb 23, super fun times!:
The band and I had a great night playing tunes for some very lovely folks, see you next time!
We had a really good rehearsal yesterday, my band is pretty fekkin awesome, even though this picture doesn’t do them justice I figure you should have a sneak peak before our next shows:
L-R: Phil Hirschi (cello), BJ Skoff (bass), Hobbs (guitar), Benjamin Rud (drums).
Come see us soon, we found a new stash of rock-and-roll.
All the best,
Phil and I had a flat tire on the way back downtown from rehearsal. I think at one point we may have been driving on a surface that isn’t usually considered as “road”, but it was dark and rainy and we really shouldn’t be nit-picky.
Everybody got home safe and sound, and we’ll live to play some rock-and-roll another day, like one of these: https://www.sjatr.com/shows
Today was a very satisfying day of songwriting.
I’ve been working on a bunch of new tunes, and it’s always so much fun to see where they lead to, it’s kind of like raising kids and watching them grow up.
I’m on a short break right now, clearing my head. Hopefully when I get back these kids will still be well-behaved.
